Alcove: Civil War - 150th Anniversary
Local Civil War veterans are featured in this exhibit. Discharge certificates line the walls; also a "call to Arms" poster, encouraging men to enlist for the cause. There is a disp0lay case containing artifacts of the war. A young man from Brush Valley, William C. Meyer, sent letters to his father while in the field which give a view of camp life at the time. These are contained in the white notebook inside his wooden foot locker. Most of the articles in the display case belonged to this soldier. A wonderful picture of the Civil War veterans marching through Rebersburg sits on top of the display case.
